In only its second state tournament in school history, St. Joseph (22-4) will meet No. 2 Wheeling Central (22-4) on Saturday.
Jill Pulley added 15 points for St. Joseph. Alex Thomas scored 12 points for No. 5 Charleston Catholic (14-12) and Maria Femia had 11.
The last time these two teams met came in last year's quarterfinals, when Charleston Catholic was the top seed but struggled to a 43-40 win over No. 8 St. Joseph.
Chapman and two teammates who played in that game returned this season and St. Joseph has yet to lose to a Class A team. Its only loss to a West Virginia school was a 56-54 setback to Class AAA Parkersburg on Dec. 29.
The biggest difference this year for Charleston Catholic was the graduation of 2007 state player of the year Mackenzie Maier and the addition of Capen Evans, a sophomore transfer from California.
Evans got Charleston Catholic into the semifinals with a 13-point, 13-rebound effort in a win over Tucker County, but she was held to eight points Friday night.
St. Joseph shot just 23 percent (9-of-39) from the floor in the first half but opened the second half with a full-court press and scored 14 unanswered points, including a Pulley layup for a 34-22 lead with 3:54 left in the third.
Another Pulley layup gave St. Joseph its largest lead, 43-29, with a minute left in the period. St. Joseph later missed several easy shots and Charleston Catholic twice cut the deficit to seven points but got no closer.
St. Joseph forced 26 turnovers and made 18 steals.
