Spring Valley blasts Woodrow Wilson 41-12

Beckley Woodrow Wilson came to Spring Valley High on Friday night in hopes of keeping a special season going, but those hopes were dashed behind the 1-2 running punch of the Timberwolves' Elijah Wellman and Ryan George as the Timberwolves routed the Flying Eagles
41-12.

Previously undefeated Woodrow Wilson found itself in a 21-0 first half hole as Ryan George scored on a 6 yard run, Elijah Wellman found paydirt on a 70 yard burst and Colby Wellman returned an interception for a 37 yard score.
Beckley, which came into the game ranked second in W.Va. Class AAA, got a late first half score on a 37 yard Andrew Johnson pass to Cole Williams.
The beat and beating continued after halftime as Spring Valley scored another 20 straight points on a 67 yard Elijah Wellman run, a 53 yard Wellman interception return for a touchdown and a 12 yard Chase Lucas run.
The Flying Eagles final score came a 4 yard Brent Osborne run.
The Timberwolves outgained the Flying Eagles 486 to 109, with all of Spring Valley's yards coming on the ground.
Wellman had a second straight 200-yard rushing game for the Timberwolves with 262 yards on 15 carries. Ryan George added 105 yards on 18 carries.
Spring Valley is now 2-2 and takes next week off, returning to action on September 28th at Greenbrier East.
Woodrow Wilson, now 3-1, is at home next week, hosting Ripley.
